Austin’s first job in radio was at his hometown station, WHBQ FM (Q107.5) in Memphis, TN. He started out as a part-time on-air talent and his career continued to grow from there. Austin worked weekends, holidays and filled in for the full-time jocks when needed. He put the time in and did everything he could to learn the business. His passion for radio, hard work earned him a new position at the Memphis station. He was given his own evening shift which he ran for over two years. During his time at WHBQ he was extensively trained and learned a lot of the business. Austin felt very fortunate to have been able to work in a top 50 market for his first radio experience. He was also employed at WKBQ (U.S. 51 Country 93.5) in Covington, TN for three and a half years before moving to his current position with WHHM in Jackson, TN. He loves the Jackson market and is a well-known personality in the area. He is also proud to say Memphis is still home as well. Working all the odd hours on holidays, weekends and evenings has paid off. He learned how to become a professional on-air personality which has brought him to the position he is in today.
